A Bar Mitzvah at LEVEL? Remember the Families Across the Alley

Pico-Robertson is the heart of Jewish Los Angeles. It is a neighborhood built around shuls, schools, kosher restaurants and simchas. LEVEL knows this. Its own booking form lists Bar Mitzvah right next to Wedding.

We are part of that same community. We are just the part of it that lives in the apartment buildings behind the venue.

Celebrating a community while keeping it awake

There is something especially hard to take about a venue that markets itself to our community's celebrations, then stages amplified DJs and singers outdoors, one alley from our community's bedrooms.

Our children have school in the morning. Many of us are up early for work, for minyan, for the week. A simcha should bring a neighborhood together. It should not keep half of it awake.

Not at your LEVEL

LEVEL sells luxury, with a $6,000 minimum on its listings. Most of the families behind it rent modest apartments and will never book a night there. That is fine. What is not fine is being treated as if we do not count because we are not customers.

We are not at LEVEL's level. We are at its property line.

A request to families booking LEVEL

Celebrate. Dance. Make it unforgettable. Just ask for the music to be inside, in the ballroom LEVEL already has. It will sound better in there anyway, and the families across the alley, some of whom may well be your friends from shul, will be grateful.
